Digital Schools Award

The Digital Schools Award initiative recognises the excellence in a school's approach to the integration of ICT in learning and teaching.Thorugh our hard work and committment to the use of digital technology in our teaching and learning, Rathlee National School was awarded Digital School status in 2008, one of only 8 schools in Connaught to achieve this prestigious status at that stage. Our school has continued to develop our digital infrastructure and skills since every year since then.

Curious Minds

Curious Minds is part of Science Foundation Ireland’s Education and Public Engagement Programme, which aims to increase interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) among students, teachers and members of the public. It supports the development of the innate curiosity of children through a hands-on, inquiry-based approach to STEM learning.
The programme originated as Discover Primary Science and Maths (DPSM) in 2003 with the goal of introducing primary school students to science in a practical, hands-on, enjoyable and interactive way. The Curious Minds Awards are a great way of involving everyone in science in the school and showing how much fun it can be!
Our school is very proud of receiving numerous awards over the years ( including an Award of Science Excellence which shows that we are a school that goes beyond the basic participation and carry out additional explorative activities) in recognition of all our good work in the area of Stem.
